I’m sitting on a heap of thank you’s this year. Again.
I was looking at this letter I wrote three years ago, and I realized that I’m way overdue in writing a proper thank you note.
So, here goes.
2015 has been a rich, ripe year for me.
I had the chance to sit with thoughtful, courageous people willing to do the work that will make their lives better and better.
I say it every year, because it’s true: I am lucky to do what I do, and I thank my clients for their trust in me and their commitment to themselves and our time together.
I took a three month maternity leave this summer and had ample time to spend time with my family and myself as I tried to wrap my head and my arms around the new role of motherhood.
People have shown me a lot of patience and kindness during this tender time, and I am very grateful for that.
After publishing more than 150 posts over a three year period, I know my departure from writing may have seemed abrupt at the time.
I enjoyed the opportunity to let my mind lay fallow for a year. I come back to my blog feeling renewed and ready to continue the conversation in 2016.
I partnered with two new supervisees, enabling me to connect more people in south Austin with qualified, compassionate counselors via our affiliate, sliding-scale practice Counseling South Austin.
Supervision is a wonderful aspect of my practice, a role I am learning more about all the time.
And what will 2016 bring? I hope more of the same.
Thank you for your referrals, for your trust, for your offers of collaboration, for your comments, and questions, and emails.
Turning toward the new year with you,
Ann
