I must admit, I’m shocked.
It’s quite possible we’ve never even spoken personally. Still, somehow you knew just what to get me this year.
Maybe you don’t remember what you got me. It may not have seemed like much to you at the time. Let me tell you how you’ve helped:
More business. In 2012, you offered me many, many referrals as former and current clients, colleagues, and folks online looking for help. Just last week, I received three inquiries in one day.
Thanks to you, my practice continues to grow and thrive. I get to focus on doing what I do best: providing therapy and counseling services to folks in Austin from all walks of life.
I offer my heartfelt thanks for your trust in me, and I will strive every day in my work to deserve and protect that trust.
More readers. Each month, hundreds of visitors come to this site, looking for ways to bring more wellness back into their lives.
Many of you are regular subscribers, dropping in every Tuesday to read the latest blog post and following the latest newsletters.
Whether you’re a one-time reader or a loyal follower, I thank you for taking the time to share your Tuesday mornings with me.
Your visits encourage me to keep writing and sharing what I know.
More collaborations. My work is deeply enriched by collaboration with colleagues. You let me collaborate here in Austin and all over the country.
This year, I cohosted workshops with Brittany Neece to help new counselors navigate the state licensing process.
I also got to supervise students at Capital Area Counseling, a community mental health center here in Austin. And I was lucky enough to write guest posts at Private Practice from the Inside Out and Beginning Counselor—both amazing communities for counselors and psychotherapists. Thanks for letting me team up with you.
I am so grateful for you. My practice is rooted in your referrals, support, and encouragement.
So, to say thanks, here’s what I’m giving back in 2013.
Training for new therapists. For me, a big piece of giving back has to do with helping students and new counselors.
In 2012, I developed counselinginterns.com, a resourcing site to help counseling students and interns plan for life after graduation.
For the last two years, I’ve been hosting workshops and consultations to help counseling students match with sites and supervisors for their internships.
In 2013, I’ll be able to offer even more support and guidance to new therapists as a supervisor for LPC interns in Austin. If you are interested in receiving LPC supervision, I will be taking a few interns into my practice in late spring. If you’d like to be added to the interest list, simply send me an email.
A new, comfortable office. We are growing into a new space in 2013, moving from West Lake Hills to south Austin.
This office will be particularly convenient for those looking for therapy in 78748 and 78745.
This move will let me offer you more sessions at more convenient times, including evening appointments. I am also pleased to offer my clients the comfort of a larger office and an in suite kitchen. And my LPC interns will have the opportunity to work in the comfort of a supervised private practice during their internship if they wish.
Labyrinth Healing will be 2 years old next spring.
I’ve been thinking about all the people who have made this dream possible, and I gotta tell you: some gifts are just too big to fit under the tree.
Thank you for the gift of your time and attention. Thank you for the gift of your trust. I look forward to our work together.
May all the peace and blessings of this season be yours. I wish you much joy in the coming year.
Be well,
Ann
